I’ve been delving my hands into creating and selling courses based on the content I’ve had experience with, and I’ve even made money from doing so. Although it can be difficult, the end result is well worth it. Some course builders don’t have this feature, but Kajabi offers users the ability to create websites to host their content. As there is a lot of potential in selling courses, it also offers a slew of marketing and sales tools to promote them to a wider audience. These include checkouts and payments as well as detailed analytics and integrations. This is especially useful if your content is sold as products.
It doesn’t stop there. Aside from making content and selling them efficiently, Kajabi has a rich library of resources and support that you can always fall back into anytime a problem arises. Since its founding more than a decade ago, Kajabi has helped build more than 100k businesses, oversaw the creation of 300k+ products from courses to newsletters, and has earned a whopping $4 billion in sales. We can appreciate how popular this platform is in course-building. However, there are some glaring omissions like its expensive plans and lack of key features such as certifications.

Since I found this platform, I have never been happier to have Kajabi be my place to promote the skills I already know and sell them to others who are interested in learning. And to know more about how much I like it, it’s better this way if we dive deeper into how it works.

Essentially, with Kajabi, you get to do a wide variety of ways:
- You can create courses by either building them up from its offering of templates or doing it all from scratch;
- You can create any type of website you like to display your content. It could be your homepage/store, your course content landing page, or a space for customers to visit. Kajabi Monthly Retainer
- You can sell any product, whether it’s free, a bonus, or a subscription.
- Make use of its range of marketing, reporting, and sales functions to acquire a wider reach from sales funnel blueprints to affiliates.
Kajabi is commonly used in two ways: to build products that will be marketed and sold in a uniquely personalized platform, and to simply create a website to host other types of content and solutions beyond courses.
Kajabi is the reason I personally use it. It allows me to create, host and sell content I feel confident in putting out. But, either way, its impressive capacities have created this service a leading platform for sharing new things with people from all walks of life.
Kajabi’s Pricing Plan
Kajabi currently offers three pricing options, namely:
- The Basic Plan, which costs as low as $119/month (billed annually from here onward),
- The Growth Plan, priced starting at $159/month, and
- The Pro Plan, which costs $319/month.
The Basic plan allows you to create three products and three sales funnels. You can also create unlimited landing pages, marketing e-mails and gain up to 1000 customers.
The Growth Tier allows you to explore most of the features, plus upgrades like 10,000 customers, ten administrators for one site, advanced automations and the Kajabi affiliate programme. You can also remove all Kajabi branding and from your website and courses.
Meanwhile, Kajabi Pro further expands the number of features with access to the code editor, on top of level-up upgrades like an allowance for 100 products and 100 funnels, 20,000 customers, three websites, and a total of 25 admin users.
It cannot currently offer a completely free plan, which may be unfortunate for those who may be wondering if there ever was one. Kajabi offers a 14-day free trial on all of its plans. If you are interested in giving it a try, this is the time to do so.
A common criticism Kajabi has received is how expensive the price range is compared to other platforms, as some offer their version of premium plans starting at a quarter or even half the price of Kajabi’s Basic tier. Those who have encountered Kajabi’s premium plans may find the pricing a bit of a reach, especially for the first time. Based on my experience, however, I can empathize somewhat with Kajabi’s premium plans. It went above and beyond with its services, user experience, and pricing.

As a one-stop place for all business and content needs, Kajabi is committed to making sure you have enough resources to step into the entrepreneurial world. You can expect more from Kajabi than you might think. Course Creation and Management

Kajabi knows the struggles creators face. That’s why it went the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly, while also addressing the common issues most people can relate to. With that in mind, Kajabi offers its users a go-to space where they can create impactful courses and, at the same time, are provided with all the necessary tools to further their reach – from how to attract potential subscribers with convincing teasers to sharing what they know using unique approaches to make them stay longer.
Courses and Products
According to Kajabi, products can refer to any digital course that you are bound to take. It can also refer to other forms that may, or may not, contain the usual course content. On one hand, some similar platforms refer to those products as, simply, courses, given their more educational nature. Kajabi, on the other, knows how important the term implies – It’s not just the varying amount of knowledge put into a feasible outcome that matters, but also how well it sells to audiences everywhere.
As of this writing, Kajabi offers seven different types of products. Each is available as a blueprint, or template, that you can generate and edit right away once you’ve selected one. One of those is an Online Course in which you’re allowed to create a content-filled course with as many lessons and media files and as much information as possible. Another is a Blank Blueprint, where you can start from scratch and add anything you want.
Apart from the main course and blank template, other product blueprints offered by Kajabi include:
- Mini-courses are great for when you need a quick and easy course to give away or as a bonus. They can be used to increase brand awareness and build anticipation for the future.
- Evergreen Training, also known as Drip Courses gives you a strategic framework. Course lessons are released regularly, preferably over a number of weeks.
- The Coaching Program is designed by Wall Street bestseller Brendan Burchard. It allows you to create a 12-week coaching program to help you improve your skills.
- Membership – This is for when all of your content needs are met in one platform that your subscribers can access at any time.
- For when you want to make a community where your members can share their thoughts and ideas about your courses, and other matters.
The Course Building Process
Once you have chosen your preferred product template, it is time to start building your course. Add whatever else is needed. You can either start from scratch or adapt an existing template. The best thing is to incorporate all of the knowledge and skills that you have acquired over the years into an information-rich course.
Kajabi’s page for course builders will allow you to explore many customization and editing options. You can add the title and sections of the course to Kajabi’s course builder page, upload a poster or thumbnail that matches your goals, and adjust the flow of your outline.
You can also upload downloadable PDFs and attach media files. Bulk uploads are possible using cloud storage software. If you discover further in Kajabi’s course builder, you may also try out cloning sections and adding announcements within the course to keep your students engaged within your course.
The Course Framework
The sections of a Kajabi course are called categories. Lessons placed under these categories are called posts. Each category under a product may be a placeholder for distinct subtopics that are adjacent to the main topic. Similar applies to posts. The subtopics under the primary topic are replaced by lessons under each one.
Kajabi allows you to add categories to the posts. This is especially useful if you have a large curriculum and want to break it down into manageable parts that your students can understand.

Kajabi gives you the option to release the product’s contents either periodically or simultaneously. In its Drip Courses, especially, you may choose the Drip option to set the release duration of the categories within a few days or even a week from each other. You may also opt for the Lock feature to block students’ access to any category unless they finish a prerequisite.
Explore Kajabi’s Course Players
Every course needs a place that allows them to be seen, clicked, and taken further. It should also be attractive. Kajabi’s Course Player feature is precisely what it aims to be, with an optimized platform to store and present your products to the students that are subscribed to them. You can customize the courses and the course player to create a better learning experience.
Kajabi has over 10 default course player themes to choose from. In other platforms, you may notice most may have only three themes or only one in-store. Compare that with Kajabi’s wider range, all you’ll notice the difference right away. It has more options. While Kajabi may seem too expensive for many, we can still appreciate the privilege it offers us. Kajabi Monthly Retainer
You can choose from any of the course theme themes and customize it as you wish. Kajabi values convenience above all else, so you don’t have to know how to code to make your course player look great. Or, if you’re better equipped with web design skills, you may opt to upload your fully-personalized theme instead!
Instructor-Student Interactions and Assessments
Communication is crucial to student success and an opportunity to earn the trust of the instructor. Kajabi offers many ways for members and you to interact. The Community feature is one of these. You can offer it as a separate product or as part of your membership package. It functions like a social media page where you and your subscribers write, see who’s online, share posts, and make comments relating to the lessons you’ve put out. You can manage, hide or disable comments for every lesson.
Assessments are a great way to keep your members interested. This involves creating quizzes that reflect the lessons they’ve learned to stimulate their brains. You can use a variety of questions when creating an assessment. These could include multiple-choice questions or paragraph fill-ins. You may even set a passing score to encourage your students to do better… or don’t at all if you’re not into giving them more pressure.
As great as Kajabi’s assessment feature may seem, it’s a bit apparent that it may fall short a bit when it comes to delivery. Compared to other course-building services, Kajabi seems to be one of the few that don’t offer native certification tools. I don’t mind about it as much, but for those who like to give out certificates, you may be out of luck in this one. This one asset would have been a great way to reward students for their accomplishments, such as finishing the course.
Website Building Tools
Aside from course-building, another important aspect of Kajabi is its ability to house powerful yet simple tools for creating a website. Kajabi has a built-in website builder that allows you to create and customize a fully-functioning website of your own without the need to rely on external providers. The platform offers free hosting for all plans.
The Kajabi website builder is also easy to navigate, although there are times when the interface can be a bit confusing. Drag-and-drop is available for the editor. However, it is not what you would expect. Instead of “drag/drop the blocks/widgets out of the menu and place them in the workspace”, you can drag sections of a page from top to bottom from the left-hand navigation menu. The workspace will then reflect the changes.
Website Themes and Customization
With Kajabi’s website builder, you get to select from 14 of its exclusive themes, (eight updated regular themes and six legacy ones) complete with a full set of pages to make your process as smooth as possible. After you have chosen the right theme for your website, it is possible to customize it according to your flow and vision. Kajabi Monthly Retainer
This can be done by adding or removing each page’s construction blocks. These include many types of content like text and font styles as well as media widgets, pricing and offers, FAQs and testimonials. To grab the attention of your audience, you can include countdown widgets and fill-in forms as well as social media content and call-to-action buttons.
The customization doesn’t stop there with building blocks, as Kajabi offers a few alternative ways to personalize your website. You have the ability to add or delete any page from any Kajabi-optimized template. There are more page options for you to explore other than home and landing pages, such as a log-in page, thank-you page, 404 error screen, portfolio, FAQ, policies, opt-in pages, and a coming soon page. You can also create a blog page if blogging is part of your specialty or skill. This allows you to compile all your published posts into an archive that readers have access to at any time.
Blogging Capabilities
Speaking of blogging pages, did you know that Kajabi has a built-in blogging feature that allows you to create posts and publish them for anyone to see? We all know that blogs can be used to post articles related to a variety of topics, even those that may be adjacent to one’s current skill set, right? Kajabi’s version serves much the same purpose.

It works in the same way as other well-recognized blogging platforms like WordPress. You simply type the words you want, the media files and hyperlinks you want to share and the tags you feel are more appropriate for your post. You can choose to publish the post immediately or schedule it to be published later. Although Kajabi’s blogging tool may not be as dynamic as WordPress’s, it is functional enough to be used by anyone.
Marketing, Sales, and CRM
In course management, how you market and sell your products can either make or break your brand standing. A well-designed marketing strategy will increase your chances of creating revenue and clout. Kajabi provides a comprehensive suite of sales and marketing tools that will help you maximize your product’s potential and make it easy to sell. Plus, it surprisingly outdoes its other top contemporaries in this field, in my opinion!
Convenient Sales Pipelines
A well-designed funnel can lead to greater opportunities for your company. However, designing one can be difficult, especially if it’s not something you are very familiar with. Kajabi’s pre-made, well-designed pipelines are ready to use and customizable. There are 14 templates in total, seven of which are default and seven for legacy templates.
Each of these is specialized for how you want to promote your products – you may give out freebies to potential subscribers to keep them enticed, showcase your courses in a way that leads them straight to the sales page, run a coaching campaign, or even hold a Zoom meeting to increase leads. The sales pipeline blueprints have been a huge help in increasing traffic to my content and generating leads.
As with some popular course platforms that have this feature, Kajabi’s collection sales pipelines are convenient and straightforward, plus it requires zero expert skills to get things right as the blueprint is automatically laid out for you. A Kajabi sales funnel contains cards, which, in turn, contain pages, automations, and sequences that your customers will be greeted upon.
E-mail Marketing and Automations
E-mail marketing is a reliable strategy for businesses of any size. It can be used to promote new releases by musicians or to update your customers about new and current items at your favorite retailers. This is also true for courses and other learning material – Kajabi’s integrated e-mail marketing function helps to keep your customers and members highly engaged with what you have released.
You might be interested in two types of e mail campaigns: email broadcasts, which you can use to send one email to your subscribers about your courses (like a newsletter) and sequences that you create messages based on user activity using automations. Automations generally exist to ease the burden of your duties – in this case, you wouldn’t have to manually send e-mails as you can schedule them corresponding to students’ actions. With Kajabi’s e-mail sequencing feature, all you’d need to do is create messages, choose when to have them sent, tag any of your subscribers who meet a certain condition and into different categories, and you’re all set.
Campaigns and automations aside, did you know that you can also create e-mails within Kajabi? CRM for Managing Members
Managing individuals who are subscribed to your courses can be a pain, and even more so if the provided platform for it is unstable. Thankfully, most course management services have functional CRM (customer relationship management) tools that they can rely on to keep your students on track, Kajabi included.
Kajabi’s CRM section (also known as People if you sign-in) allows you to monitor the activities of your members remotely. You can see who bought your products, who subscribed to your membership and track their progress. You can also see who has been inactive longer.
You may also explore one of your students in full depth by checking their profile. This is where you see their lifecycle or how long they’ve purchased your course, as well as detailed info including the time and date of when they first signed in. Kajabi’s People feature can be useful in checking who has performed poorly and giving them a boost with feedback notes and, if necessary, a few freebies to get them back on track.
Kajabi’s CRM features go beyond the People dashboard. Course assessments and affiliate management are included in the bundle. We’ve already talked about the former earlier in full detail, but we haven’t come across the latter yet, which is what we’re exactly about to do shortly.
Kajabi Affiliate Program
A successful business creates the opportunity to recruit affiliates as a way to expand its reach. Limited only to users in the Growth and Pro plans, the Kajabi Affiliate Program offers them a handful of resources needed to transform their members into trustworthy affiliates of your brand. Essentially, all it takes is for you to convince your most proactive students to join the program, and they may get a share of your earnings as a benefit!
With Kajabi Affiliates, not only could you get to build a stronger following. Your chances of increasing your conversion rate and generating more clicks could be higher with Kajabi Affiliates. While I can understand why they needed to make cuts to maintain their business model, it is a problem for edupreneurs who want to grow and are keen to improve. Kajabi offers a solution that will allow them to grow, despite their high price tag. You can control how refunds are handled, in addition to the advantage of keeping your earnings private. Kajabi doesn’t have to be strict about this, and allows its users to make their own decisions. They can let their members access their content even after they request a refund.
Kajabi provides native integrations to the payment gateways Stripe and PayPal. Stripe takes care of primarily credit and debit cards as well as e-wallet providers, and there’s no need to explain further about PayPal since it’s a very common mode of payment online. Take note, though, that you may need to pay service fees to whichever payment gateway you plan to use – technically, you’d have your revenue deducted in some capacity, but not in a major way.
