Essentially, with Kajabi, you get to do a wide variety of ways:
- You can create courses by either building them up from its offering of templates or doing it all from scratch;
- Build any kind of website to house whatever you want to showcase, whether it be a homepage/store for your course content, a landing page, a place for customers to check out, or space for you and your customers to connect; Kajabi Course Development
- Sell any type of product whether they be free as a bonus, charged with competitive one-time payment pricing, or as subscriptions; and
- You can use its marketing, reporting and sales functions to reach more people, from affiliates to sales funnel blueprints.
Kajabi can be used to create products and sell them in a unique platform. Or to simply host other content and solutions on the website.
Kajabi is the reason I personally use it. It allows me to create, host and sell content I feel confident in putting out. Its impressive capabilities have made it a top platform for sharing new information with people from all walks.
Kajabi’s Pricing Plans
Kajabi currently offers three pricing options, namely:
- The Basic Plan, which costs as low as $119/month (billed annually from here onward),
- The Growth Plan, priced starting at $159/month, and
- The Pro Plan costs $319 per month.
With the Basic plan, you’re allowed to come up with three products and three sales funnels, create unlimited landing pages and marketing e-mails, gain up to 1000 active customers, and have the opportunity to create a website with hosting provided by Kajabi itself.
The Growth Tier allows you to explore most of the features, plus upgrades like 10,000 customers, ten administrators for one site, advanced automations and the Kajabi affiliate programme. You can also remove all Kajabi branding and from your website and courses.
Meanwhile, Kajabi Pro further expands the number of features with access to the code editor, on top of level-up upgrades like an allowance for 100 products and 100 funnels, 20,000 customers, three websites, and a total of 25 admin users.
Unfortunately, it does not currently offer a free plan. But, despite this, Kajabi does offer a free 14-day trial for each of its available plans. If you are interested in giving it a try, this is the time to do so.
A common criticism Kajabi has received is how expensive the price range is compared to other platforms, as some offer their version of premium plans starting at a quarter or even half the price of Kajabi’s Basic tier. Kajabi’s premium plans can seem a little too expensive for those who have used them before. But based on my experience, I think I kind of empathize with the platform knowing that it went all out with its services and user experience, so it makes sense why the pricing was this way.

Kajabi provides a one-stop shop for all your content and business needs. And by that, I mean there’s more than what you can expect. Let’s now take a look at some of the key features of the platform and break them down one-by-one.
Course Creation and Management

But the task of course building isn’t always so easy to the point where you could take it for granted. Kajabi knows the struggles creators face. That’s why it went the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly, while also addressing the common issues most people can relate to. Courses and Products
In Kajabi’s terms, products refer to any type of digital course you’re bound to make. You can also use it to refer to other forms of the course content. On one hand, some similar platforms refer to those products as, simply, courses, given their more educational nature. Kajabi, on the other, knows how important the term implies – It’s not just the varying amount of knowledge put into a feasible outcome that matters, but also how well it sells to audiences everywhere.
As of this writing, Kajabi offers seven different types of products. Each product can be used as a template or blueprint that you can immediately generate and modify. An Online Course is one of these. You can create as many lessons, media files and information as you like. Another is a Blank Blueprint, where you can start from scratch and add anything you want.
Kajabi also offers other product blueprints, including the blank template and main course.
- Mini-courses are great for when you need a quick and easy course to give away or as a bonus. They can be used to increase brand awareness and build anticipation for the future.
- Evergreen Training, also known as Drip Courses gives you a strategic framework. Course lessons are released regularly, preferably over a number of weeks.
- Coaching Program – designed by Wall Street bestselling author Brendan Burchard, lets you create an intimate 12-week program as a means to enhance your skills to the next level
- Membership – This is for when all of your content needs are met in one platform that your subscribers can access at any time.
- Community – for when you want to create a space where you and your members can communicate and share thoughts about your courses and more
The Course Building Process
After selecting your preferred product blueprint, it’s now time to build your course by adding whatever needs to be added. You can either start from scratch or adapt an existing template. The best thing is to incorporate all of the knowledge and skills that you have acquired over the years into an information-rich course.
As you navigate through Kajabi’s course builder page, you’ll get to explore a multitude of customization and editing options. You may add the title of the course as well as the sections that make up the course, upload a thumbnail or poster image that suits what you’re aiming and adjust the flow of your entire outline.
You can also upload downloadable PDFs and attach media files. Bulk uploads are possible using cloud storage software. You can also use Kajabi’s course creator to create clones and add announcements within your course to keep students interested.
The Course Framework
The sections of a Kajabi course are called categories. Lessons placed under these categories are called posts. Each category under a product may be a placeholder for distinct subtopics that are adjacent to the main topic. Similar applies to posts. The subtopics under the primary topic are replaced by lessons under each one.
Kajabi allows you to add categories to the posts. This is especially useful if you have a large curriculum and want to break it down into manageable parts that your students can understand.

Kajabi allows you to choose whether the product’s contents are released periodically or simultaneously. You can choose to release the content of Drip Courses within a few days, or even one week, depending on how long you want. The Lock feature can be used to prevent students from accessing any category until they have completed a prerequisite.
Exploring Kajabi’s Course Player
Every course needs a place that allows them to be seen, clicked, and taken further. It should also be attractive. Kajabi’s Course Player feature provides a platform that allows you to store and display your products to students who have subscribed. You can customize the courses and the course player to create a better learning experience.
Kajabi offers over 10 themes for default course players. You may find that most platforms only offer three themes, or one in-store. Comparing that to Kajabi’s larger range will immediately show the difference. What I particularly like about it is that there are more options to explore – Kajabi surely may be quite too pricey to afford for some, but we can at least appreciate how much it gives to offer us this privilege! You can choose from any of the course theme themes and customize it as you wish. Kajabi values convenience above all else, so you don’t have to know how to code to make your course player look great. You can upload your customized theme if you are more proficient in web design.
Instructor-Student Interactions and Assessments
Communication is key to a student’s success and a means to gain the trust of the instructor. Kajabi offers many ways for members and you to interact. The Community feature is one of these. You can offer it as a separate product or as part of your membership package. It functions like a social media page where you and your subscribers write, see who’s online, share posts, and make comments relating to the lessons you’ve put out. You can manage, hide or disable comments for every lesson.
Assessments are a great way to keep your members interested. This involves creating quizzes that reflect the lessons they’ve learned to stimulate their brains. There are different types of questions that you may use to create an assessment, from multiple-choice questions to paragraph fill-ins. You may even set a passing score to encourage your students to do better… or don’t at all if you’re not into giving them more pressure.
Although Kajabi’s assessment tool may be impressive, it is quite obvious that it lacks delivery. Kajabi appears to be the only course-building service that doesn’t offer native certification tools, which is a significant difference from other services. It’s not something I mind, but it may be a problem for those who enjoy giving out certificates. Having this one asset in Kajabi would have been helpful to reward students easily for their achievements such as finishing the course.
Website Building Tools
Kajabi’s ability to provide powerful, yet easy tools for creating websites is another important aspect. Kajabi has a built-in website builder that allows you to create and customize a fully-functioning website of your own without the need to rely on external providers. As expected, the platform provides free hosting on all plans to have your visions come to life!
Although the Kajabi website builder can be very easy to use, there are times when it can be confusing. The drag-and-drop techniques apply to the editor, but it’s not what you would expect – instead of the usual “drag the blocks/widgets from the menu and drop them into the workspace,” you just drag to rearrange sections of a page from the top to bottom on the left-hand menu, and the workspace, once updated, will reflect the change.
Website Design and Customization
With Kajabi’s website builder, you get to select from 14 of its exclusive themes, (eight updated regular themes and six legacy ones) complete with a full set of pages to make your process as smooth as possible. After you have chosen the right theme for your website, it is possible to customize it according to your flow and vision. Kajabi Course Development
This can be done by adding or removing each page’s construction blocks. These include many types of content like text and font styles as well as media widgets, pricing and offers, FAQs and testimonials. You have the ability to add or delete any page from any Kajabi-optimized template. There are more page options for you to explore other than home and landing pages, such as a log-in page, thank-you page, 404 error screen, portfolio, FAQ, policies, opt-in pages, and a coming soon page. You can also create a blog page if blogging is part of your specialty or skill. This allows you to compile all your published posts into an archive that readers have access to at any time.
Blogging Capabilities
Kajabi’s built-in blogging function allows you to publish posts to your blog and make them visible to everyone. We all know that blogs can be used to post articles related to a variety of topics, even those that may be adjacent to one’s current skill set, right? Well, Kajabi’s version has much of the same purpose.

It functions similarly to that of well-recognized blogging platforms such as WordPress – you type in the words you want to say, the media files and links you want to share, and the tags for which you think your post is more appropriate. You can choose to publish the post immediately or schedule it to be published later. Although Kajabi’s blogging tool may not be as dynamic as WordPress’s, it is functional enough to be used by anyone.
Marketing, Sales, and CRM
Your brand’s reputation can be affected by how you market your products. An effective marketing strategy has a better chance for your creations to gain clout and revenue. Otherwise, a poorly-organized one may lead to low to zero turnouts. The process of planning how to make products as sellable as possible can be such a daunting task, and Kajabi remedies this by providing an impressive suite of marketing and sales tools designed to maximize your platform and ease your convenience. Plus, it surprisingly outdoes its other top contemporaries in this field, in my opinion!
Convenient Sales Pipelines
A well-designed funnel can lead to greater opportunities for your company. However, designing one can be difficult, especially if it’s not something you are very familiar with. Kajabi comes to the rescue with its effectively designed pre-made pipelines, all of which are customizable and ready for use. It houses a total of 14 templates (seven for default templates, the other seven for legacy ones).
Each of these is specialized for how you want to promote your products – you may give out freebies to potential subscribers to keep them enticed, showcase your courses in a way that leads them straight to the sales page, run a coaching campaign, or even hold a Zoom meeting to increase leads. The sales pipeline blueprints have been a huge help in increasing traffic to my content and generating leads.
As with some popular course platforms that have this feature, Kajabi’s collection sales pipelines are convenient and straightforward, plus it requires zero expert skills to get things right as the blueprint is automatically laid out for you. A Kajabi sales funnel contains cards, which, in turn, contain pages, automations, and sequences that your customers will be greeted upon.
Marketing by E-mail and Automations
Sending e-mails is a fail-proof marketing strategy that businesses of all types use, whether it be to promote new releases from musical artists or to share updates on new and on-sale items from your favorite retailers. This is also true for courses and other learning material – Kajabi’s integrated e-mail marketing function helps to keep your customers and members highly engaged with what you have released.
You might be interested in two types of e mail campaigns: email broadcasts, which you can use to send one email to your subscribers about your courses (like a newsletter) and sequences that you create messages based on user activity using automations. It can be difficult to manage individuals who have subscribed to your courses. This is especially true if the platform you use for this purpose is not stable. Thankfully, most course management services have functional CRM (customer relationship management) tools that they can rely on to keep your students on track, Kajabi included.
Kajabi’s CRM section (also known as People if you sign-in) allows you to monitor the activities of your members remotely. You can see who bought your products, who subscribed to your membership and track their progress. You can also see who has been inactive longer.
Check out the profile of one of your students to learn more about them. This is where you see their lifecycle or how long they’ve purchased your course, as well as detailed info including the time and date of when they first signed in. Kajabi’s People can help you see who is performing poorly and give them feedback and, if needed, some freebies to get them on the right track.
Kajabi’s CRM features go beyond the People dashboard. Course assessments and affiliate management are included in the bundle. The former has been discussed in detail before, but the latter is something we are about to discover.
Kajabi Affiliate Program
As a way of expanding its reach, a successful business can recruit affiliates. Limited only to users in the Growth and Pro plans, the Kajabi Affiliate Program offers them a handful of resources needed to transform their members into trustworthy affiliates of your brand. Essentially, all it takes is for you to convince your most proactive students to join the program, and they may get a share of your earnings as a benefit!
Kajabi Affiliates will help you build a bigger following. You could also have more chances of generating extra clicks and elevating the conversion rate of your content. If you’re already established in the industry you’re working in, you might find this one practical as you can manage and track your affiliates and how they’re doing to boost your leads and profit from the comforts of a specialized separate dashboard. Kajabi isn’t that strict when it comes to this issue, giving its users the chance to do whatever they want – they can either let their members have access to their content even after requesting a refund or otherwise.
Kajabi provides native integrations to the payment gateways Stripe and PayPal. Because PayPal is a common method of online payment, Stripe handles credit and debit cards. Take note, though, that you may need to pay service fees to whichever payment gateway you plan to use – technically, you’d have your revenue deducted in some capacity, but not in a major way.
Do you want to get in-depth insight to improve your business? Kajabi’s reporting and analytics features are just two ways you can do this. The analytics has ratings, charts, and graphs that clearly show how your courses are doing so far, with accuracy close to a T. Meanwhile, you can explore a list of reporting options to choose from and view, from net revenue and sales performance to website views and subscription metrics. - It provides a social media-esque feed where you and your members can interact and communicate with one another

The Cons
- It has a higher price range compared to other course-building platforms – this is because it follows a different framework and business model that doesn’t resort to burdening the user
- It does not have a native tool for recognizing students. It also lacks assessment features, such as the inability of setting the length of each question or uploading question files.
- Its management feature lacks other essential and advanced tools like SMS marketing, custom tracking for affiliates, and inventory tracking
- Though flexible and easy to use as the interface may seem, some of its functions may be confusing to use at times

It took me many years of research and skillful thinking to find the right course management platform for me when I started my journey into educational entrepreneurship.
