Kajabi is very easy to use. For a platform as jam-packed and well-versed as it is, it’s impressive to note that its user experience manages to be as convenient and fuss-free as possible. Kajabi is a platform that I have used many times. I don’t need to know any technical jargon to use its features. No need to do some extra coding, as Kajabi handles the rest for you, saving you time and effort in the long run.
Some course builders don’t have this feature, but Kajabi offers users the ability to create websites to host their content. There is so much potential for selling courses that Kajabi offers many marketing and sales tools to help promote them to a wider audience. This includes checkouts and payments, sales funnels, detailed analytics, and even integrations – all very useful, especially if you sell your content as products for a living.
It doesn’t end there. Aside from making content and selling them efficiently, Kajabi has a rich library of resources and support that you can always fall back into anytime a problem arises. You can learn valuable information, improve your earning potential, and access a large database of videos and help articles.

Since its founding more than a decade ago, Kajabi has helped build more than 100k businesses, oversaw the creation of 300k+ products from courses to newsletters, and has earned a whopping $4 billion in sales. We can appreciate how popular this platform is in course-building. However, there are some glaring omissions like its expensive plans and lack of key features such as certifications.

Ever since I came across this platform, I’ve never been so glad to have Kajabi as my go-to place for promoting the skills I know and selling them to those who are thirsty for knowledge. It’s great to learn more about it.

Kajabi allows you to do many things.
- You can create courses by either building them up from its offering of templates or doing it all from scratch;
- You can create any type of website you like to display your content. It could be your homepage/store, your course content landing page, or a space for customers to visit. Kajabi Watch
- You can sell any product, whether it’s free, a bonus, or a subscription.
- You can use its marketing, reporting and sales functions to reach more people, from affiliates to sales funnel blueprints.
Kajabi can be used to create products and sell them in a unique platform. Or to simply host other content and solutions on the website.
Kajabi is the reason I personally use it. It allows me to create, host and sell content I feel confident in putting out. Its impressive capabilities have made it a top platform for sharing new information with people from all walks.
Kajabi’s Pricing Plan
Kajabi currently offers three pricing options, namely:
- The Basic Plan, which costs as low as $119/month (billed annually from here onward),
- The Growth Plan, priced starting at $159/month, and
- The Pro Plan, which costs $319/month.
With the Basic plan, you’re allowed to come up with three products and three sales funnels, create unlimited landing pages and marketing e-mails, gain up to 1000 active customers, and have the opportunity to create a website with hosting provided by Kajabi itself.
The Growth Tier allows you to explore most of the features, plus upgrades like 10,000 customers, ten administrators for one site, advanced automations and the Kajabi affiliate programme. You can also remove all Kajabi branding and from your website and courses.
Meanwhile, Kajabi Pro further expands the number of features with access to the code editor, on top of level-up upgrades like an allowance for 100 products and 100 funnels, 20,000 customers, three websites, and a total of 25 admin users.
It cannot currently offer a completely free plan, which may be unfortunate for those who may be wondering if there ever was one. Kajabi offers a 14-day free trial on all of its plans. So, if you want to give it a test drive, now may be the perfect chance.
A common criticism Kajabi has received is how expensive the price range is compared to other platforms, as some offer their version of premium plans starting at a quarter or even half the price of Kajabi’s Basic tier. Those who have encountered Kajabi’s premium plans may find the pricing a bit of a reach, especially for the first time. Based on my experience, however, I can empathize somewhat with Kajabi’s premium plans. It went above and beyond with its services, user experience, and pricing.
Kajabi’s Features – A Comprehensive Breakdown
Kajabi provides a one-stop shop for all your content and business needs. And by that, I mean there’s more than what you can expect. Let’s now take a look at some of the key features of the platform and break them down one-by-one.
Course Creation and Management
The ability to create meaningful course content is at the heart of many full-fledged platforms that specialize in educational entrepreneurship (edupreneurship, if you will), Kajabi included. Kajabi knows the struggles creators face. That’s why it went the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly, while also addressing the common issues most people can relate to. With that in mind, Kajabi offers its users a go-to space where they can create impactful courses and, at the same time, are provided with all the necessary tools to further their reach – from how to attract potential subscribers with convincing teasers to sharing what they know using unique approaches to make them stay longer.
Courses as Products
According to Kajabi, products can refer to any digital course that you are bound to take. It can also refer to other forms that may, or may not, contain the usual course content. On one hand, some similar platforms refer to those products as, simply, courses, given their more educational nature. Kajabi, on the other, knows how important the term implies – It’s not just the varying amount of knowledge put into a feasible outcome that matters, but also how well it sells to audiences everywhere.
Kajabi currently offers seven types of products. Each is available as a blueprint, or template, that you can generate and edit right away once you’ve selected one. One of those is an Online Course in which you’re allowed to create a content-filled course with as many lessons and media files and as much information as possible. The other is, straight-up, a Blank blueprint where you can simply start from scratch and add whatever you wish to add.
Apart from the main course and blank template, other product blueprints offered by Kajabi include:
- Mini-courses – for whenever you want to produce a quick, easy-to-digest course as a freebie or bonus, something to build extra value for your brand and anticipation for what’s to come
- Evergreen Training, also known as Drip Courses gives you a strategic framework. Course lessons are released regularly, preferably over a number of weeks.
- Coaching Program – designed by Wall Street bestselling author Brendan Burchard, lets you create an intimate 12-week program as a means to enhance your skills to the next level
- Membership – This is for when all of your content needs are met in one platform that your subscribers can access at any time.
- Community – for when you want to create a space where you and your members can communicate and share thoughts about your courses and more
The Course Building Process
Once you have chosen your preferred product template, it is time to start building your course. Add whatever else is needed. You can either start from scratch or adapt an existing template. The best thing is to incorporate all of the knowledge and skills that you have acquired over the years into an information-rich course.
Kajabi’s page for course builders will allow you to explore many customization and editing options. You may add the title of the course as well as the sections that make up the course, upload a thumbnail or poster image that suits what you’re aiming and adjust the flow of your entire outline.
Additionally, you may upload downloadable PDFs, attach media files, utilize bulk uploads powered by cloud storage software, and add e-mail automations, among other things. The Course Framework
The sections of a Kajabi course are called categories. Lessons placed under these categories are called posts. Kajabi gives you the option to release the product’s contents either periodically or simultaneously. In its Drip Courses, especially, you may choose the Drip option to set the release duration of the categories within a few days or even a week from each other. You may also opt for the Lock feature to block students’ access to any category unless they finish a prerequisite.
Explore Kajabi’s Course Players
For every course, there needs to be a place where they can be presented for anyone to see, click, and go further – and an attractive one, too. Kajabi’s Course Player feature provides a platform that allows you to store and display your products to students who have subscribed. You can customize the courses and the course player to create a better learning experience.
Kajabi has over 10 default course player themes to choose from. You may find that most platforms only offer three themes, or one in-store. Compare that with Kajabi’s wider range, all you’ll notice the difference right away. It has more options. While Kajabi may seem too expensive for many, we can still appreciate the privilege it offers us. Kajabi Watch
You can choose from any of the course theme themes and customize it as you wish. Since Kajabi prioritizes convenience as best as possible, you won’t need to learn code just to make your course player look good. Or, if you’re better equipped with web design skills, you may opt to upload your fully-personalized theme instead!
Interactions between Instructors and Students. Assessments
Communication is crucial to student success and an opportunity to earn the trust of the instructor. For this reason, Kajabi provides a variety of ways for you and your members to interact. The Community feature is one of these. You can offer it as a separate product or as part of your membership package. It functions like a social media page where you and your subscribers write, see who’s online, share posts, and make comments relating to the lessons you’ve put out. Another comes in the form of comments under every lesson – you may choose to manage, hide, or even disable them altogether.
Assessments are a great way to keep your members interested. This involves creating quizzes that reflect the lessons they’ve learned to stimulate their brains. There are different types of questions that you may use to create an assessment, from multiple-choice questions to paragraph fill-ins. To encourage students to do better, you may set a passing score. If not, don’t give them any pressure.
Although Kajabi’s assessment tool may be impressive, it is quite obvious that it lacks delivery. Kajabi appears to be the only course-building service that doesn’t offer native certification tools, which is a significant difference from other services. I don’t mind about it as much, but for those who like to give out certificates, you may be out of luck in this one. This one asset would have been a great way to reward students for their accomplishments, such as finishing the course.
Website Building Tools
Aside from course-building, another important aspect of Kajabi is its ability to house powerful yet simple tools for creating a website. Kajabi’s built-in website builder allows you to create and customize your website without having to rely on third-party providers. As expected, the platform provides free hosting on all plans to have your visions come to life!
Although the Kajabi website builder can be very easy to use, there are times when it can be confusing. The drag-and-drop techniques apply to the editor, but it’s not what you would expect – instead of the usual “drag the blocks/widgets from the menu and drop them into the workspace,” you just drag to rearrange sections of a page from the top to bottom on the left-hand menu, and the workspace, once updated, will reflect the change.
Website Design and Customization
Kajabi’s website creator allows you to choose from 14 themes (eight regular themes and six heritage themes) along with a complete set of pages. After you have chosen the right theme for your website, it is possible to customize it according to your flow and vision. Kajabi Watch
You may do so by adding or deleting each page’s building blocks, which comprise many types of content such as text and font styles, media widgets, pricing, offers, FAQs, and testimonials. To grab the attention of your audience, you can include countdown widgets and fill-in forms as well as social media content and call-to-action buttons.
Kajabi has many other ways to customize your website. One is by tweaking the overall look to fit your or your business’s aesthetic through the theme settings tab. You can change the default typography, icons and color scheme of the site, as well as the background or profile color.
Another is simply uploading a fully customized theme that’s not part of Kajabi’s library, just like you would with the Course Player. Kajabi allows you to connect your custom domain to the site you have just created. As already mentioned, a common Kajabi website theme is composed of pre-made pages that link to each other even as you click on them. These include the standard home page which normally contains the gist of what your business or service offers, a library to house all the content you’ve uploaded on Kajabi, a functioning store where users can purchase your products on the spot, and, especially, landing and sales pages to help convince new customers to try out your content for themselves.

For every Kajabi-optimized theme, you have the option to delete or add any page you like. You have more options than just landing and home pages. These include a log-in page and thank-you screen, portfolio, FAQ and policies pages. You can also create a blog page if blogging is part of your specialty or skill. This allows you to compile all your published posts into an archive that readers have access to at any time.
Blogging Capabilities
Kajabi’s built-in blogging function allows you to publish posts to your blog and make them visible to everyone. Blogs can be used to publish articles on a wide range of topics. Kajabi’s version serves much the same purpose.

It works in the same way as other well-recognized blogging platforms like WordPress. You simply type the words you want, the media files and hyperlinks you want to share and the tags you feel are more appropriate for your post. You can choose to publish the post immediately or schedule it to be published later. Although Kajabi’s blogging tool may not be as dynamic as WordPress’s, it is functional enough to be used by anyone.
Marketing, Sales, and CRM
Your brand’s reputation can be affected by how you market your products. A well-designed marketing strategy will increase your chances of creating revenue and clout. A poorly organized strategy can lead to low to no turnouts. The process of planning how to make products as sellable as possible can be such a daunting task, and Kajabi remedies this by providing an impressive suite of marketing and sales tools designed to maximize your platform and ease your convenience. It is also surprising to me that it outperforms other top competitors in this field.
Convenient Sales Pipelines
A well-designed sales funnel could lead to better opportunities for your business, but designing one can be quite a struggle, especially if you’re not that well-versed in marketing stuff. Kajabi comes to the rescue with its effectively designed pre-made pipelines, all of which are customizable and ready for use. There are 14 templates in total, seven of which are default and seven for legacy templates.
Each of these is specialized for how you want to promote your products – you may give out freebies to potential subscribers to keep them enticed, showcase your courses in a way that leads them straight to the sales page, run a coaching campaign, or even hold a Zoom meeting to increase leads. The sales pipeline blueprints have been a huge help in increasing traffic to my content and generating leads.
As with some popular course platforms that have this feature, Kajabi’s collection sales pipelines are convenient and straightforward, plus it requires zero expert skills to get things right as the blueprint is automatically laid out for you. A Kajabi sales funnel contains cards, which, in turn, contain pages, automations, and sequences that your customers will be greeted upon.
Marketing by E-mail and Automations
Sending e-mails is a fail-proof marketing strategy that businesses of all types use, whether it be to promote new releases from musical artists or to share updates on new and on-sale items from your favorite retailers. The same can be said for courses and other learning materials – Kajabi’s built-in e-mail marketing feature helps keep your members and potential customers highly engaged with the content you’ve released.
You might be interested in two types of e mail campaigns: email broadcasts, which you can use to send one email to your subscribers about your courses (like a newsletter) and sequences that you create messages based on user activity using automations. It may seem familiar to some, but it can be a time-saver for those who don’t know much about e-mail automations. Kajabi Watch
Automations generally exist to ease the burden of your duties – in this case, you wouldn’t have to manually send e-mails as you can schedule them corresponding to students’ actions. Kajabi’s email sequencing feature allows you to create messages and choose the time they should be sent. You can also tag subscribers that meet certain conditions and put them into different categories.
You can create e-mails in Kajabi, as well as automations and campaigns. There are many templates available on the platform. The e-mail editor lets you edit the layout the same way as website pages. You can change the order of your building blocks, add sections and even upload images.

CRM for Managing Members
It can be difficult to manage individuals who have subscribed to your courses. This is especially true if the platform you use for this purpose is not stable. Kajabi and other course management tools have functional CRM (customer relationship management) tools.
Kajabi’s CRM section, also known by its term People if you sign in, allows you to check on the activities of your members from afar. You may get to see who purchased any of your products or subscribed to your membership, track the progress if they’re doing well or not, see who’s been inactive for longer, and even go through a list of e-mail contacts that have been hard bounced for reasons such as an invalid domain.
You may also explore one of your students in full depth by checking their profile. This is where you see their lifecycle or how long they’ve purchased your course, as well as detailed info including the time and date of when they first signed in. Kajabi’s People feature can be useful in checking who has performed poorly and giving them a boost with feedback notes and, if necessary, a few freebies to get them back on track.
Kajabi’s CRM features go beyond the People dashboard. Course assessments and affiliate management are included in the bundle. The former has been discussed in detail before, but the latter is something we are about to discover.
Kajabi Affiliate Program
A successful business creates the opportunity to recruit affiliates as a way to expand its reach. The Kajabi Affiliate Program is only available to Pro and Growth plan users. It provides them with a few resources to help transform their members into trusted affiliates for your brand. You simply need to convince your most active students to sign up for the program. They may also be eligible to receive a portion of your earnings.
Kajabi Affiliates will help you build a bigger following. You could also have more chances of generating extra clicks and elevating the conversion rate of your content. This one might be useful if you are already a professional in your industry. You can track and manage your affiliates, and see how they are doing. Kajabi Watch
You can send them links to share, track how many clicks they have, track potential sales and even kick one out if they aren’t satisfied. You can also create a customized affiliate onboarding page to further encourage your members to sign up, share announcements to boost their morale, and even generate links to any website – not just to Kajabi!
Sales, Payments, and Accurate Analytics
Most course management services often take a little bit of, too much of, or half the percentage of your profits made from selling courses. Kajabi ensures that you get the money you make from selling courses. Kajabi is my favorite platform because I can keep 100% of the revenue I make from selling my products. This gave me a tremendous morale boost, which I don’t get from other platforms.
I may understand why they had to take cuts as a means to sustain their business model, but for the edupreneurs who are eager to improve, this can be seen as a bit of a disadvantage. Kajabi offers a solution that will allow them to grow, despite their high price tag. You can control how refunds are handled, in addition to the advantage of keeping your earnings private. Kajabi doesn’t have to be strict about this, and allows its users to make their own decisions. They can let their members access their content even after they request a refund.
Kajabi offers native integrations with the payment gateway outlets Stripe and PayPal. Because PayPal is a common method of online payment, Stripe handles credit and debit cards. Take note, though, that you may need to pay service fees to whichever payment gateway you plan to use – technically, you’d have your revenue deducted in some capacity, but not in a major way.
Want to gain in-depth insights to help improve your business? Kajabi’s reporting and analytics features are just two ways you can do this. Analytics provides ratings, charts and graphs to show how your courses are performing so far. You can also explore a variety of reporting options, including net revenue, sales performance, website views, and subscription metrics. Kajabi is more than a great array of features. It equally shines when it comes to customer support, which has amassed an overwhelmingly positive reception among many who have used the platform to make business.
Its customer service hotlines, for example, serve as reliable outlets for people to ask whenever they need assistance on the spot or have any questions in mind. Kajabi’s vast library of learning materials can be used to help you if you are too shy to ask. There’s a lot of helpful stuff for us to go through, so let’s check each one out.

Kajabi’s customer support team is split into ticket support and chat support. The chat support service, which is backed by marketing and course creation experts, can be accessed by all users, regardless of their plan type. The only difference is the time it’s available. Similar to Kajabi Access, Kajabi University is a jam-packed learning source geared toward guiding fresh entrepreneurs with tips and tricks on how to run a successful business. While the former achieves it mainly through intimate encounters with bona fide experts and noteworthy upgrades, the latter does it by letting you sift through a rich library of informative courses that you can enroll in – and download – at any time. The duration of these courses can range from a measly six minutes to four full hours worth of lessons. Webinars, meet-ups and a Community of Heroes
Kajabi is a platform that supports the community of people who helped to build it from the ground up. This is something I love about it. And it does so in a way similar to how it champions user convenience and accommodations to leverage the standing of its users. Kajabi Watch
Kajabi offers entrepreneurs from all walks of life a variety of outlets where they can interact with one another – and inspire each other to be at their very best. Such ways include live and on-demand webinars featuring talks from and discussions with experts and distinguished guests, virtual meet-ups where fellow Kajabi creators can connect and share pieces of advice, and exclusive access to the official private Facebook community of Kajabi Heroes. Speaking of Kajabi Heroes, it’s worth noting that, apart from the online interactions, Kajabi takes it seriously when it comes to giving its user base the best it has to offer – not just figuratively, but literally. Kajabi fondly dubs each customer who has channeled their efforts into success using the platform a “Hero.” Its Hero Rewards program sees any Hero receive gifts and freebies delivered straight to their door once they reach certain milestones. These can include stationery, clothing, accessories, bags, reusable cups, and mugs as well as honorary badges.

You may be already impressed with the number of options the Kajabi platform offers. It has its flaws, but they don’t overshadow its strengths. Let’s look at all of Kajabi’s pros and cons!
The pros:
- It offers a well-organized and sleek user interface that is easy to use. This makes it a highly functional and robust experience for all who use it.
- It’s easy, flexible, and nearly entirely intuitive to use, from website building and course creation to payment processing
- It provides free website hosting and lets you build a fully functioning one. This is something that a few course management platforms can’t offer.
- It contains a variety of great in-house tools, from marketing to user management. This minimizes the need for third-party integration.
- Its customization capabilities can be used to create custom solutions that are both simple and robust.
- It takes zero percent of your profits, and you’d only need to pay service fees to either Stripe or PayPal
- It offers a social media-like feed that allows you and your family members to interact and communicate with each other
- It is known for its excellent customer service and rich information resource library.
- It prioritizes its user base community over all other features.

The Cons:
- It has a higher price range compared to other course-building platforms – this is because it follows a different framework and business model that doesn’t resort to burdening the user
- It does not have a native tool for recognizing students. It also lacks assessment features, such as the inability of setting the length of each question or uploading question files.
- It lacks advanced features like custom tracking for affiliates and inventory tracking, but it does have a management feature.
- Although the interface is flexible and intuitive, there are some functions that can be difficult to use.
Alternatives to Kajabi
It took me many years of research and skillful thinking to find the right course management platform for me when I started my journey into educational entrepreneurship. Since then, my course-building and marketing capabilities have expanded beyond how much skill I used to have when I was a rookie, and so it was fitting for me to move over to other services that would match my increasing demand. Although Thinkific and Kajabi offer nearly identical features and can be used by both experts and beginners, there are certain aspects that may make one more appealing than the other.

Teachable is another popular service that has a good reputation and a lot of clout. It excels in the creation of enriching course content. While Kajabi’s offerings and platform help create an opportunity for dynamic usage, we can’t fully gloss over its limits. I’ve had some issues with its lack of other core and advanced tools, plus extra marketing and product management options.
The confusion with the editing layout doesn’t help either. The interface was not what I expected when I first explored the website editor. Perhaps it was my insatiable desire to use the editor, to the point that I forgot to read the instructions or my recurring practice of dragging and dropping into any editor.
